1. Plain-English summary
- Client Plus subscribers request refunds through Apple’s “Report a Problem” page or the Google Play refund flow. We don’t process those refunds because we don’t receive the money — Apple and Google do.
- Therapist subscribers (Pro or Practice) get a full refund within 30 days of their first paid charge, no questions asked. After 30 days, a prorated refund is available for the unused portion of the current period when you cancel.
- Capacity add-ons (Pro Client Pack, Practice Clinician Seat) follow the same 30-day-then-prorated rule as the base subscription they’re attached to. Removing a quantity unit mid-period refunds the unused portion of that unit.
2. Client Plus (mobile app)
Client Plus is sold as an in-app subscription through the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). When you subscribe, your payment goes to Apple or Google — not to TheraBasics. We see only that the subscription is active; we do not see your payment information.
Because of that, we cannot issue refunds for Client Plus ourselves. Refund requests must go through the platform where you purchased:
- App Store (iOS): open reportaproblem.apple.com and select the TheraBasics subscription. Apple decides whether to grant the refund per their refund policy.
- Google Play (Android): open the Play Store on your device, find TheraBasics in your subscriptions, and tap “Refund.” Google decides whether to grant the refund per their refund policy.

3. Therapist tiers (Pro and Practice)
TheraBasics offers two paid therapist tiers: Pro (individual clinician, base capacity of 30 clients) and Practice (multi-clinician, up to 100 clients per clinician seat). Both tiers offer monthly and annual billing cadences through Stripe. New signups start with a 14-day free trial on Pro before any charge.
3.1 30-day money-back guarantee (first subscription)
When you subscribe to a paid therapist tier for the first time, you have 30 days from the first paid charge to request a full refund. You don’t need to give a reason. We’ll cancel the subscription, refund the charge in full, and remove your therapist dashboard’s paid features.
The 30-day guarantee applies only to your first paid subscription on a given account. The 14-day free trial does not count toward this 30 days — the clock starts at the first post-trial charge. If you cancel and re-subscribe later, subsequent charges follow the prorated-refund policy in section 3.2.
3.2 Prorated refund after 30 days
After your first 30 days, you can cancel any time, and we’ll refund the unused portion of your current billing period. The proration is calculated as (days remaining in the current period) ÷ (days in the full period), applied to the price you paid for that period.
Your dashboard’s paid features remain active through the day we process the refund, after which your account drops to the free tier.
3.3 Founding-member rate (Pro tier only)
If you subscribed to Pro at the founding-member rate, the rate is honored for the lifetime of your subscription as long as it remains continuously active. Canceling and re-subscribing does not preserve the founding rate — re-subscribers pay the then-current standard rate. Refunds (under either the 30-day or prorated policy) do not affect founding-rate eligibility while the subscription is still active.
Note: the founding-member rate applies only at the Pro tier. The Practice tier does not offer a founding rate. If you upgrade from a founding Pro subscription to Practice, you move to the standard Practice rate; if you later downgrade back to Pro, the founding rate is not restored (the lifetime-rate guarantee assumes continuous Pro billing).
3.4 Practice tier
Practice subscriptions are refundable on the same 30-day-then-prorated basis as Pro. Refunds are issued to the practice account’s payment method. Adding or removing clinician seats mid-period is handled under section 4 (Add-ons).
4. Add-ons (capacity expansions)
Two add-ons can expand the capacity of a base subscription:
- Pro Client Pack — layered on Pro, adds 15 client slots per quantity unit (so 2 packs = 60 additional clients on top of Pro’s base 30).
- Practice Clinician Seat — layered on Practice, adds 1 clinician account per quantity unit. Each seat carries its own per-clinician client cap (100 clients).
Both add-ons follow the same 30-day-then-prorated rule as the base subscription they’re attached to:
- Within 30 days of first charge: full refund of the add-on quantity you want to remove, no questions asked.
- After 30 days: prorated refund for the unused portion of the current billing period on the quantity being removed. Reducing a Pro Client Pack from quantity 3 to quantity 2, for example, prorates one pack’s unused period.
Removing an add-on does not cancel your base subscription. If you want to cancel both, request the base cancellation under section 3 and any add-on quantities will be cancelled alongside it.
5. How to request a refund
For therapist tiers and add-ons, email support@therabasics.com with:
- The email address on your TheraBasics account
- The reason for the request (optional but appreciated — it helps us improve the product)
- Whether you want to cancel the subscription as part of the refund (we recommend yes for full-cancellation requests; for add-on reductions, specify the new quantity you want)
For Client Plus, follow the platform-specific flow in section 2. We don’t need an email — Apple and Google handle the request directly.
6. What happens after you request
For therapist subscriptions and add-ons:
- Within 2 business days we acknowledge your request and confirm the refund amount.
- Within 5 business days we process the refund through Stripe (the payment processor for therapist tiers). Stripe typically returns funds to your original payment method within 5-10 additional business days, depending on your bank.
- We log the refund in our internal audit trail. This log is non-identifying for compliance review purposes — it records that a refund was issued and when, not the personal details of the request.
